Afganistan
April 2012

Reportage about Afghanistan April 2012. Story by Corry Hancké published in De Standaard, a Belgian quality newspaper.
While the Taliban launched a new series of attacks, the Americans pull tasteless tricks on the enemy’s dead bodies, the 4th scandal within 4 months. 'Foreigners out!' The cry is heard more and more, also in Kunduz, the north of the country. You can hear it even in the Belgian barracks where a battalion of the Afghan army is being trained by Belgians. A drop in the ocean. There are not enough security forces to keep the peace which means that the armed militias are given free rein. 'Sleeping is not possible anymore because each night fate can knock on your door.'
